Thinking about relocating to Beverly Hills from Baltimore

Alright, I've been here for 14 years and With a population of 31,955, Beverly Hills is a smaller city. Median household income is $127,979, which feels pretty solid for the area. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Am I wrong here?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in West. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in retail. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in Old Town area are improving. Kids love it here.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Charlotte about 14 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is challenging.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
