Moving to Beverly Hills -what should I know?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a remote worker and It's a a small town city with about 10,507 people. Rent is about $2,208/month for a decent place. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Chicago it's decent.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 2 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Greenfield. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in marketing. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've been here 2 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Westside. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in legal. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
