Remote worker thinking about Beverly

Hello, Just moved here 17 months ago and Median household income is $103,739, which feels pretty solid for the area. Homes are going for about $621,900 on average. Household incomes average around $103,739 in Beverly. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Any advice would be great. TIA! Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I've lived in South for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options
- The community vibe scene is solid

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
