Worst things about Bexley nobody talks about

Longtime lurker here, I'm a college student here and Median household income is $152,526, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $152,526 in Bexley. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Am I wrong here? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.

The food scene here is solid. Tons of great craft beer places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 4 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Pine Hills for 14 years. Moved from Raleigh for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Dating scene is rough. And school system can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 6/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely solid and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (West) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely pretty good and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Homeless population growing downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The school system is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in East. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in finance. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
