OK so It's a a small town city with about 12,115 people. You can expect to pay around $1,417 for rent here. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. Any advice would be great. Appreciate any input. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 5 years ago. The main reasons were weather and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is tough.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Hope this helps!.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The healthcare is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Highland for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- The traffic scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited high-paying job options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Definitely worth checking out..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Old Town side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The healthcare is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The public transit scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Limited entertainment options
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Pine Hills area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.
