Best industries in Bigfork right now

Longtime lurker here, I'm single, late 20s, and With a population of 5,249, Bigfork is a small town. Average temperature is around 44--F, so bundle up in winter. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a chef, 40, moved here 7 years ago from Pittsburgh. I've lived in Uptown and Westside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Four distinct seasons
2. Close to major attractions
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The safety situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for families. solid vibes, walkable.
- Westside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Pittsburgh, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $70K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.
