Billings quality of life — am I missing something?

Longtime lurker here, The median home value here is around $311,800, which seems about average. Homes are going for about $311,800 on average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Thoughts? The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 9 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Dallas about 2 years ago. The main reasons were weather and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is better than expected.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Happy to answer more specific questions..
