Things that make Birch Bay unique

Hey folks, With a population of 11,103, Birch Bay is a small town. Poverty rate is 6.6%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,201 for rent here. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to.

Pros:
- Good schools
- Good healthcare facilities
- Walkable downtown
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Rising rent prices
- High property taxes
- Boring for young people
- Poor road conditions
Appreciate any input. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The cost of living is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 2 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
