Been meaning to ask this. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value public transit, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely improving and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Westside) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Old Town. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Korean.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much affordable but now it's surprisingly good.
