Hey folks, I'm single, late 50s, and The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. With a population of 74,146, Bismarck is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $291,400, which seems about average. Average temperature is around 42--F, so bundle up in winter. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Worth the trade-offs? Thanks for reading. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
