Housing in Blackfoot compared to Portland

Born and raised here. Household incomes average around $69,091 in Blackfoot. You can expect to pay around $798 for rent here. With a population of 12,628, Blackfoot is a small town. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Has anyone dealt with this? Cheers. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The cost of living is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Bought a house here in 2022 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
