What to expect moving to Blackhawk?

Alright, I'm originally from Baltimore and Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate. You can expect to pay around $3,501 for rent here. Rent is about $3,501/month for a decent place. With a population of 10,404, Blackhawk is a small town. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Thoughts? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Sunset area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:

- Strong job market in several industries

- Lots of new development happening

- The outdoor recreation scene is better than expected

The downsides:

- Traffic during rush hour is rough

- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Good luck with whatever you decide..
