The food scene here is tough. Tons of great seafood places. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely pretty good and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from San Francisco about 11 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are established, gas is challenging.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. No regrets on my end..

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Came here for retirement and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The food scene is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
