Longtime lurker here, The unemployment rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. Anyone in a similar situation? TIA!

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is underrated in most areas.

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in West. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I work in marketing here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is challenging. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
