Cheapest neighborhoods in Blaine?

Hi all, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Median household income is $103,382, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $103,382 in Blaine. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Anyone in a similar situation? Thanks in advance! It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 8 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from San Francisco about 4 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Nightlife is limited

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are wild, gas is underrated.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Definitely worth checking out..

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Highland for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
- The job market scene is improving

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
