Moving to Blaine with kids -good idea?

So, Military spouse here. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,707 for rent here. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in North. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in construction. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I work in marketing here and I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market for my field is decent. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
