Hi all, I'm a remote worker and Crime rate is something to consider -Blanding sits at 165.2 per 100K. With a population of 3,303, Blanding is a small town. You can expect to pay around $869 for rent here. Homes are going for about $225,000 on average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Any advice would be great. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is dating scene. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Used to live on the The Heights side, now on the Meadowbrook side. Completely different vibe. it exceeded my expectations.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Fairview. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in finance. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
