Should I move to Bloomingdale or stay in San Diego?
Longtime lurker here, With a population of 7,686, Bloomingdale is a small town. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Would love some local perspective.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Tampa about 4 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights
- The job market scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in retail. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like seafood.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Oak Park. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in retail. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 1 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..
