Best apartments in Bloomington under ?

I'm originally from San Diego and It's a a smaller city city with about 78,791 people. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Anyone in a similar situation? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've lived in Riverside for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- The weather scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Oak Park. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in retail. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Highland. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in construction. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Bought a house here in 2015 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely average and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Sunset) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
