Why I chose Bloomington over bigger cities

So, It's a a smaller city city with about 78,791 people. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Is this normal for Bloomington?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in South. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
