Bloomington housing prices -when will it stop?

I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Homes are going for about $346,200 on average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I work in consulting here and the quality of life is solid. The job market for my field is solid. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The dating scene is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in South. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in engineering. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
