Most overrated things about Bloomington

Hello, I relocated for work and Homes are going for about $346,200 on average. The median home value here is around $346,200, which seems about average. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. Thanks in advance! It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (The Heights) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Dating scene is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely decent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (The Heights) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.
