Rent prices in Bloomington getting crazy

Anyone else noticing rent going up fast in Bloomington? Over the last year, I feel like prices went up at least 10-15%. I'm paying $1526 for a 2BR which feels okay for the area.

Are there any neighborhoods that are still affordable? Thinking about moving to a cheaper area.

If you can afford it, Riverside is the best place to live. Period.

Coming from Miami, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are cheaper.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.

Respectfully disagree about the safety concerns. In my experience, there are good opportunities if you network.

Great post! One thing I'd mention is the west side tends to be more affordable. Makes a big difference.

Totally agree with this. I've been here 8 years and my experience is very similar.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Northside and Westside are perfectly safe.

Don't sleep on Eastside. It's up and coming and still affordable.
