Is Blue Island good for remote workers?

My partner and I are Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Homes are going for about $169,800 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,071 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 23,416 people. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Am I wrong here? Thanks for reading. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in South. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in retail. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights
- The nightlife scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much pricey but now it's excellent.
