Cost of living reality check -Blue Ridge Summit

I work in legal and With a population of 1,016, Blue Ridge Summit is a small town. The unemployment rate is 0.4%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 1,016 people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Am I overthinking this? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Bought a house here in 2024 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
