Hey folks, I grew up here but left for a while. You can expect to pay around $2,187 for rent here. With a population of 31,323, Bluffton is a smaller city. It's a a smaller city city with about 31,323 people. The unemployment rate is 1.4%, which is pretty low. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What do you all think? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Minneapolis about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are wild, gas is solid.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 6 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
