Biggest downsides of living in Boca Raton?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm retired and It's a a smaller city city with about 98,833 people. Median household income is $102,722, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 76--F, so it's warm year-round. Poverty rate is 5.0%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Any advice would be great. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Lakewood. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in real estate. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Hope this helps!.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.
