I'm a lawyer and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Baltimore it's surprisingly good.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The housing market is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 4 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
