Biggest downsides of living in Bogalusa?
Hey, I've been here for 7 years and You can expect to pay around $710 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 10,539 people. Homes are going for about $107,000 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development.
Pros:

- Low crime in most areas
- Good schools
- Easy commute
Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Not very walkable
- High property taxes
- Boring for young people
- Mosquitoes and humidity
Should I be concerned? The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.
