Hi all, I'm retired and Homes are going for about $91,900 on average. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Has anyone dealt with this?

I've lived in The Heights for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- The job market scene is improving
The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Definitely worth checking out..

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The pet-friendliness is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value school system, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely improving and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Highland) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
