Hello, Military spouse here. With a population of 73,813, Bolingbrook is a smaller city. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Am I overthinking this? The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from LA about 4 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is challenging.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Happy to answer more specific questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
