Couple moving to Bolingbrook from out of state

Hey everyone, Military spouse here. With a population of 73,813, Bolingbrook is a smaller city. Homes are going for about $295,500 on average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Does this match your experience? Any help is appreciated.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The weather is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Used to live on the Meadowbrook side, now on the Midtown side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great Vietnamese places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Came here for family and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The safety is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 6 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is underrated.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Hope this helps!.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The traffic is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
