Rent in Bolingbrook getting crazy

Curious what people think. I'm single, late 20s, and Rent is about $1,718/month for a decent place. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Has anyone dealt with this? Looking forward to hearing from you all. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 15 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is tough.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Phoenix about 1 years ago. The main reasons were family and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is challenging.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth checking out..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in West for 15 years. Moved from Raleigh for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
construction is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Can feel isolated. And community vibe can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 6/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
