Should I move to Bolingbrook or stay in Omaha?

Hello, Crime rate is something to consider -Bolingbrook sits at 163.1 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Portland about 6 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 7 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

Bought a house here in 2020 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I've been here 10 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into running, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Boston about 9 years ago. The main reasons were family and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is challenging.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. No regrets on my end..
