Biggest downsides of living in Bolivar?

Random thought, I'm a college student here and Household incomes average around $44,603 in Bolivar. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Let me know your thoughts.

Came here for weather and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The traffic is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Atlanta about 1 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are affordable, gas is excellent.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
