Working in Bolivar -salaries realistic?

Hello, I work in marketing and With a population of 1,317, Bolivar is a small town. Poverty rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,420/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 4.2%, which is about average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Anyone in a similar situation? Appreciate any input. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great Indian places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 15 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into running, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
