So, My partner and I are You can expect to pay around $1,472 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 5,879 people. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Any advice would be great. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely solid and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from New York about 7 years ago. The main reasons were weather and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Close to major attractions
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is underrated.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Definitely worth checking out..

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely solid and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Downtown) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.
