Thinking about relocating to Bonham from Atlanta

Has anyone dealt with this? Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is excellent in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Charlotte about 11 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Close to major attractions
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is solid.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The public transit is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'm a nurse and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely excellent and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (The Heights) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The pet-friendliness is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much affordable but now it's better than expected.
