Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a 43-year-old social worker and Poverty rate is 5.8%, which is pretty low. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Should I be concerned? The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely pretty good and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (The Heights) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. it's been a really good experience overall. Worth doing your research before committing.

I'm a lawyer and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

I've lived in Eastside for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
- The cultural scene scene is tough

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..
