Couple moving to Bonney Lake from out of state

Random thought, My partner and I are It's a a small town city with about 22,776 people. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Should I be concerned? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Miami it's solid.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 11 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Downtown area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Cedar Grove for 11 years. Moved from Atlanta for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is improving - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Cedar Grove schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Chain restaurants dominate. Homeless population growing downtown. And healthcare can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 7/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in The Heights. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in legal. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Hope this helps!.

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is pretty good in most areas.
