OK so Rent is about $2,212/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 22,776 people. You can expect to pay around $2,212 for rent here. Poverty rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Any advice would be great. TIA! There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely challenging and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Highland) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The safety is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Phoenix it's excellent.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from San Francisco about 8 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Summers can be brutally hot
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Old Town area are challenging. Kids love it here.

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a pharmacist, 58, moved here 13 years ago from Austin. I've lived in Westside and Downtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The community vibe situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Westside: Great for singles. average vibes, walkable.
- Downtown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in East for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure
- The traffic scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..

Bought a house here in 2016 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
