Been meaning to ask this. I'm a college student here and The unemployment rate is 8.0%, which is concerning. Homes are going for about $373,600 on average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Thoughts? TIA! The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Atlanta it's average.

Moved here from Seattle about 6 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to nightlife but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Affordable housing options
- The food scene scene is average
The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor recreation is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Sunset for 1 years. Moved from Boston for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
construction is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is decent - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Sunset schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Limited shopping options. And weather can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 5/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in South. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Korean.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..
