My family moved here when I was a kid. Homes are going for about $173,400 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Boonville sits at 190.3 per 100K. The median home value here is around $173,400, which is actually reasonable. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 5 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much reasonable but now it's pretty good.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
