Is it worth buying in Boquerón comunidad (Las Piedras Municipio)?

Curious what people think. I'm a 26-year-old pharmacist and The unemployment rate is 6.8%, which is concerning. Average temperature is around 78--F, so it's warm year-round. Crime rate is something to consider -Boquer--n comunidad (Las Piedras Municipio) sits at 2,771.8 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor recreation is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a teacher, 50, moved here 3 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in Riverside and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Chain restaurants dominate
2. Limited shopping options
3. The housing market situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Riverside: Great for singles. decent vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Austin about 14 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are manageable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Definitely worth checking out..
