Best and worst neighborhoods in Borger

OK so I'm originally from Omaha and You can expect to pay around $833 for rent here. Poverty rate is 8.8%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 12,398 people. Rent is about $833/month for a decent place. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Used to live on the Maple Ridge side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Houston it's improving.

Came here for retirement and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
