I'm single, late 50s, and Median household income is $59,031, which feels about average for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Borger sits at 871.0 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $833 for rent here. The median home value here is around $90,000, which is actually reasonable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Appreciate any input. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Denver about 1 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are manageable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Tampa it's better than expected.
