Bossier City quality of life -am I missing something?
Random thought, Military spouse here. It's a a smaller city city with about 62,832 people. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 4 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is tough.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
