Best weekend activity in Boston?

For context,

We relocated for my husband's job in finance. The weather took some getting used to but I actually love it now.

With a population of 663,972, the city has a {city_feel}. Median income here is around which {inc_feel}.

What I like:
- Affordable compared to coastal cities
- Strong local businesses
- Strong arts and culture scene

What I don't:
- Sprawl is real
- Nightlife is lacking
- Property taxes
- Water quality concerns

I don't understand why more people don't talk about Charlestown. I feel like Boston is becoming more expensive without getting better.

Roast me or validate me, I can take it.

My experience has been different actually. I found that Traffic has gotten noticeably worse in the past year.. Maybe it depends on which part of Boston you're in.

Gonna share a detailed perspective since most replies are pretty surface-level.

I'm a single mom in Jamaica Plain. Been here since 2022. The food scene in {hood} is honestly incredible..

Neighborhood-wise, Jamaica Plain has really shifted in the past few years. Dorchester is the up-and-coming spot right now. Somerville is where I'd look if budget is a concern.

Job market for education: great. For healthcare: growing.

Grocery prices are creeping up but still manageable.

OK let me break this down from someone who's been here a while.

North End vs Back Bay: completely different vibes. North End is more decent with a younger crowd and nightlife. Back Bay is quiet and better for young professionals.

Cost-wise, expect /mo minimum for anything decent in North End. In Back Bay you can find stuff for /mo.

The {industry} scene here is really picking up.. Traffic has gotten noticeably worse in the past year.
