If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is tough in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Midtown. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in retail. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Seattle about 13 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
