Freelancing from Bothell -experience?

OK so It's a a smaller city city with about 48,610 people. With a population of 48,610, Bothell is a smaller city. Homes are going for about $871,300 on average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Worth the trade-offs? Any help is appreciated. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 13 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Used to live on the Meadowbrook side, now on the Cedar Grove side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

I've lived in East for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- The food scene scene is solid

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.
